Our Projects
The Neshaminy Watershed Association coordinates various restoration and conservation projects throughout the watershed. These efforts help improve water quality, restore natural habitats, and enhance the ecological health of the Neshaminy Creek system.
Project Types
Riparian Tree Plantings
We organize volunteer tree planting events along stream banks to restore riparian buffers. These native trees and shrubs help stabilize banks, filter runoff, provide wildlife habitat, and improve water quality.
Stream Bank Stabilization
Using techniques like "live-stake" installations, we stabilize eroding stream banks in a cost-effective and ecologically beneficial way. This method uses living plant materials to create natural reinforcement.
Stream Cleanups
Regular cleanup events remove trash and debris from waterways, improving aesthetics, habitat quality, and water flow while engaging community volunteers in hands-on conservation.
Invasive Species Removal
We work to remove invasive plant species that threaten native ecosystems, allowing native vegetation to thrive and supporting biodiversity.
Pollinator Gardens
We maintain pollinator gardens that support bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects while educating the community about the importance of native plants.
